Its sunlit yellow façade, green ironwork, vaulted ceilings, and grand arched interior evoke the romance of old Europe while standing firmly in Southeast Asia’s most dynamic metropolis. Designed during the French Indochina era by architect Alfred Foulhoux (often mistakenly attributed to Gustave Eiffel), the structure blends Gothic, Renaissance, and classical European influences with local adaptation. Inside, travelers encounter antique wooden phone booths, historic 1892 maps of Saigon and Indochina, and the enduring atmosphere of an age when letters carried the weight of nations.
