
Formerly known as Saigon. During our tour, we’ll see the city’s long and complex history on full display: Centuries’ old Buddhist temples and buildings built by French colonists. Continuing on, we will see the Catholic Cathedral of Notre Dame, completed in 1880 and said to stand on the site of an old pagoda. We’ll then witness the majestic Post Office, also built in the late 19th century, it features a pair of enormous murals with maps of Vietnam as it was years ago. Rex Hotel and Dongkhoi street.
Independent palace: A Visit to Reunification Palace is recommended: An exploration of this celebrated Ho Chi Minh city monument, key to shaping Vietnamese heritage, should be undertaken. Its sunlit yellow façade, green ironwork, vaulted ceilings, and grand arched interior evoke the romance of old Europe while standing firmly in Southeast Asia’s most dynamic metropolis. Designed during the French Indochina era by architect Alfred Foulhoux (often mistakenly attributed to Gustave Eiffel), the structure blends Gothic, Renaissance, and classical European influences with local adaptation. Inside, travelers encounter antique wooden phone booths, historic 1892 maps of Saigon and Indochina, and the enduring atmosphere of an age when letters carried the weight of nations.
